Second Version of HIP code now live - 13 September 2007
The HIP Code sponsor, AHIPP (The Association of Home Information Pack Providers) has announced minor changes to the Code such as expanding the need to provide HIPs promptly to make it explicit that the provision of HIPs should not be delayed in any way by the provider following instruction. It also updates the Code to reflect that Energy Performance Certificates can only be carried out by registered Home Inspectors or accredited Domestic Energy Assessors.
The Code will be subject to further review and amendment through consultation with other stakeholders and the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) although all registered firms can be assured that they will be provided with reasonable notice of any detailed amendments.
